Stackpole update 30.1.13

Another great day today and this time in glorious weather; mild with crystal clear skies. Today the children enjoyed completing some conservation work at Scrubby Bottom where they cleared brambles away from saplings and used them to weave a natural fence system. There was also a super cycle ride through the woods. For evening meal there was a hearty roast and then this evening the children had a camp fire to look forward to.

All the children had a great day and threw themselves whole heartedly into everything, which was great to see.

Stackpole update 29.1.13

Another great day at Stackpole. During the day the children took part in orienteering around Lodge Park Woods and also rock pooling at Freshwater West. For tea the children tucked into jacket potato with beans and cheese or chilli. This evening the children took part in an exciting night line activity, diary writing and postcards.
The evening was topped off with hot chocolate before all the children trudged off to bed ready for a good night sleep.

Stackpole update Monday 28.1.12

The children all arrived safe and sound and have had a really enjoyable afternoon exploring some of the Stackpole Estate. They walked through the woods to the beach where they loved watching the massive waves that crashed ashore.
This evening the children sorted their rooms, completed a fire drill and tucked into some gorgeous spaghetti bolognese, followed by jelly and ice cream.
They are all looking forward to an exciting day tomorrow.

Read for my school

On Monday the children in Year 5 and 6 were given their usernames for Read for My School which is a challenge set by Pearson publishers. The idea is that children will read as many books as they can and the computer will keep a record of them. There are absolutely loads of books online for the children to read or download, and there is also a very comprehensive list of recommended reads.

I know that the children are all incredibly excited to read as many books as they can between now and March 21st. In school the teachers will keep a check to see how it’s going. If you would like any more information then click here

On the maths page there are two links all about maths passports that the children are doing in school.

If you would like to know any more please pop in and ask.
